About "The Wedding Seamstress"
The Wedding Seamstress brings very high quality
together with a comfortable atmosphere unlike any
other place you will find. With extensive experience
within the wedding industry, coupled with experience
in the fashion industry, The Wedding Seamstress is the
one place you can feel comfortable leaving the most
regarded piece of your special day.

Deedee Vicory, owner/seamstress, has over 16 years in
the bridal industry and is like having a bridal store
owner that is able to completely revamp your wedding
dress if needed. She states that "we are in love with
wedding dresses. They are our passion. Our equipment
is set up only to work with delicate fabrics associated
with bridal wear and it shows with each and every dress
that leaves the studio."

In addition to altering bridal gowns and bridesmaid
dresses The Wedding Seamstress offers custom dress
design and creation, which can allow brides to explore a
new design unlike anything available elsewhere.

The perfect fit for your perfect day...
An alteration studio is more than just a lady and sewing machine. At The Wedding
Seamstress you will find a Chocolate Bar (below) with a variety of different chocolates
to treat our clients, and an array of pink, black, and white aprons. Every staff member
is required to design and produce their own apron in their own vision (below). Take
note of the aprons as they represent the different personalities that spend their days at
The Wedding Seamstress.
Special things to Notice
We recognize the importance of people to make any company successful and we are
VERY proud of the people that choose to spend their time working with us to make
your dresses perfect. Below are descriptions of each of our staff.
The Rest of The Wedding Seamstress
Justin Vicory - Owner/Operator
Justin Vicory is one of the two owners of The
Wedding Seamstress. He is an MBA candidate at
the University of Colorado at Denver with a strong
focus on marketing. His past experience includes
time spent within manufacturing and management
at such locations as Abercrombie & Fitch. He works
full time at The Wedding Seamstress conducting all
areas of business, including answering the phones...
So you may end up talking to him when you call to
schedule your appointment.
Larisa Miskevich - Seasoned Seamstress
Originating from Ukraine, Larisa is a seasoned seamstress that was originally trained
professionally in her home country. Her previous work was on standard apparel
garments in a manufacturing environment, but she has quickly translated those skills
into the art of becoming a true wedding seamstress.
Marla Stefanelli, as a person, is truly an artist. She has a vast background in
numerous areas of arts, including the sewing world. For a number of years she served
as the editor of Sew News Magazine and she currently spends time working with us
to perfect the art of sewing on wedding dresses. For more information on some of her
other artwork please visit her website at
http://marlastefanelli.com/index.htm.
Erica Oakley - Associate Seamstress
Erica Oakley was our very first apprentice and she has blossomed into a seamstress
with incredible talent. Away on leave in Los Angeles, CA currently, she will return in
Spring 2010 to continue giving each and every bridal gown the attention and detail it
deserves. She has spent more hours at the side of Deedee Vicory than all of the other
seamstresses combined.
The Apprentices
Currently there are three apprentices that spend time learning the art of wedding
dresses. Each one of them brings a unique value to the team as they are hand selected
among many interested takers. At any given time we offer up to four apprenticeship
positions in which we offer training in sewing, designing, fabric knowledge, and
customer communications. If interested in the WSA program please
contact us.
Marla Stefanelli - Seasoned Seamstress
Laura Backlin - Office Assistant/Apprentice
When you call there is a good chance you will hear Laura answer the phones,
especially on our busy Saturdays. She has been with The Wedding Seamstress since
early 2008 and serves as an office assistant... but she truly enjoys working as one of
our apprentices as well learning the art of wedding dress alteration and design.
